History and Terroir

Koehler-Ruprecht is one of the oldest and most tradition-focused wineries in Germany's Palatinate region, located on the Rhine River, east of Saarland. Founded in 1890, the winery has a long history of producing high-quality Rieslings. In the early 20th century, Koehler-Ruprecht was one of the first wineries to champion the production of dry, ageworthy Rieslings from Germany.

Farming and Winemaking

Koehler-Ruprecht's winemaking philosophy is based on the belief that great wine is made in the vineyard. The winery sources its grapes from some of the best vineyards in the Palatinate, and the fruit is hand-selected to ensure only the highest quality grapes are used in its wines. The winery also uses spontaneous fermentations and vinifies and ages its wines exclusively in large-format oak casks, which helps to preserve the wine's natural flavors and aromas.
