Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg

The Mugneret sisters

flagBurgundy, France

History and Terroir

Carried on by the region’s most hard-working and powerhouse sisters (now in conjunction with their daughters), this world-renowned estate is home to some of Burgundy’s most silky, sophisticated, and concentrated Red Burgundies. The Mugneret sisters may just be the fiercest duo in all of Burgundy. Upon their father Georges’ death in the late 1980s, they—along with their brave mother, Madame Jacqueline Mugneret—were left with no choice but to sell or take over the estate; immediately, the Mugneret banded together, left their respective careers, finished oenology studies, and got straight to work. For the last four decades, the Mugneret women have carried on the family legacy, establishing themselves as one of key producers in Vosne-Romanée. Now joined by their daughters, the estate’s wines have soared to new heights. Mugneret-Gibourg wines are produced from sustainably-farmed fruit hailing from Burgundy’s most hallowed sites, including Ruchottes-Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot, Echézeaux, and more.

Farming and Winemaking

The Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg wines are known for their concentration, balance, and unbelievable ability to age. These hard-working sisters are two of Burgundy’s most passionate and treasured vignerons, offering small-production wines that are cellar-worthy, silky and sustainable.
