History and Terroir

Isabel Ferrando is a force to be reckoned with. After leaving her career in banking, Isabel purchased the Domaine Saint-Préfert (now Domaine Famille Isabel Ferrando) estate in 2002, releasing her inaugural vintage the following year—and the wines have only continued to skyrocket in quality since their early days. After learning the intricate nuances of her plots for more than a decade and a half, Isabel pivoted the focus of the domaine with the 2020 vintage, deciding to focus on the art of blending, in terms of grape varieties and terroirs (she credits Henri Bonneau for initially planting this seed in her brain). As of 2023, Isabel is joined by her daughter Guillemette at the family estate.
