Stéphane Ogier

flagRhône Valley, France

History and Terroir

The Ogier family has a long and storied history in the Northern Rhône Valley of France, producing wine since 1859. Now in its seventh generation, the estate is run by Stéphane Ogier, who has a deep understanding of the vineyards and the exceptional wines they produce. With over 10 hectares of vineyards in Côte-Rôtie, Stéphane Ogier has access to some of the area's top sites, including Côte-Rozier and La Viallière. These vineyards are planted with Syrah grapes, the only grape variety permitted in red Côte-Rôtie wines.

Farming and Winemaking

Stéphane Ogier's winemaking style is minimalist, focusing on expressing the fruit and the terroir. He uses little or no oak aging and ferments his wines with whole clusters. This approach results in wines that are elegant, balanced, and food-friendly. Stéphane Ogier's wines have a strong Burgundian influence, as he studied winemaking in Beaune, Burgundy. This is reflected in his focus on elegance and finesse.
