La Petite Charmotte is a concentrated and energetic wine from the beloved village of Nuits-Saint-Georges. Lachaux obtains the fruit for this wine from a new supplier who is not only farming organically, but is also adapting much of the vineyard work to Lachaux’s signature methods (allowing vines to grow high, grass to grow between vineyards, etc.) Expect a ripe core of plum, black cherry, and rose petal-driven undertones to lead to a flavor-packed finish.

Lachaux’s Côte de Nuits Aux Montagnes comes from a high-altitude 2-hectare plot of 60+ year old vines rooted in the village of Comblanchien. In the cellar, the wine is vinified with 100% whole clusters and native yeasts, followed by aging in used barrels prior to being bottled unfined and unfiltered. No added sulfur is used. Expect a vibrant and textured wine laden with flavors of cool red berries, damp earth, and dried herbs.

Inspired by the great Lalou Bize-Leroy, Charles prunes all of his vines using the guyot poussard method, which encourages sap flow and allows them to grow wild. In the cellar, Charles uses generous amounts of whole clusters, gentle extraction and judicious use of new oak. The resulting wines are vivacious, ethereal, and transparent of the places from which they come.
