History and Terroir

For over 100 years, Dictador has focused on creating ultra-premium, vintage and aged rum in the heart of Colombia. Driven by a passion for art, their rebellious mindset has enabled Dictador to push the boundaries within both aged rums and bottle design, too. The unique vision of Dictador brings together vintage rums from different eras along with a desire to have these special, rare spirits housed in beautiful bottles. This has lead Dictador to relationships with artists across the globe, establishing the brand as ‘The Arthouse Spirit’ and partnerships with celebrated artists such as Richard Orlinski and leading crystal glass maker Lalique. Dictador also has a focus on collaboration within the wider drinks world, with their Distillery Master Hernan Parra developing the ‘2Masters’ project; extra-maturing aged rum in the barrels of some of the other finest drinks producers across the globe under the guidance of other expert Cellar Masters.
